Parent Coaching

Raising a teen in today’s world is tough … to say the least. Adolescence is full of change (brains, bodies, and identity) and the world we live in is chaotic. As a parent coach I seek to help parents of tweens/teens turn chaos into connection with their teens, so that you can navigate the adolescent years with confidence, grace and peace. Bereavement Therapy

The loss of a loved one is an experience all of us go through, yet the grief process is unique to each individual. Grief is not about getting over, but rather going through and healing after a loss. In bereavement therapy our open wounds can heal into something that while sensitive to the touch, makes us stronger. Bereavement therapy is about experiencing, integrating, releasing, and exploring our losses so to move out of the grieving process and into a new understanding of who we are and what it means to truly live.

 

EMDR

The human brain includes a system of memory networks that store a variety of information for us. Sometimes there are traumatic experiences we have stuck in our brain that negatively affect our day to day functioning. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one way to treat trauma in which the brain heals itself. Through the use of bilateral stimulation, memories are recalled, reprocessed, and stored in new ways. EMDR is used for a wide array of issues including: post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression, phobias, sleep problems, complicated grief, addictions, pain relief, and self-esteem.

 

Gottman Couples Therapy

The Gottman method of couples therapy, started by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, seeks to build a Sound Relationship House for a couple. This is the basis of a healthy relationship, which can foster understanding, connection and intimacy in relationships. Through Gottman couples therapy, couples can achieve a long-term healthy relationship. In working with couples I employ the Gottman Method Couples Therapy approach.
