Welcome and hello!
My name is Cara Morales. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor, and Parenting Coach who works with teens, couples, and families who find themselves in a difficult season of life.
As a therapist, I embrace the following philosophies:
Life is not an easy journey, and no one is exempt from the storms of life.
Adolescence is a tumultuous phase of life, both for the adolescent and their family.
Marriage, while a joyous and rich relationship, is at times extremely difficult.
Having someone to walk with us through the storms of life is invaluable. Therapy offers a healing support system during these times. Therapy is most effective when everyone is fully invested in the process.
There is always hope.
I received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University and am licensed to practice in California. I am trained in the following skills and specializations: Bereavement Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Gottman Couples Therapy, Mindfulness, and the integration of Christian faith with psychology for clients that desire this.
I am currently accepting new clients, and invite you to schedule an initial appointment.
I look forward to our journey together!
Cara Morales, MA, LMFT, LPCC
Experience
I have worked predominately in the high school setting and have extensive experience in treating adolescents. In collaboration with parents, I have assisted adolescents overcome depression, anxiety, self-harm behaviors, suicidality, family stressors such as divorce or a new blended family, and a variety of relational situations. In addition to providing individual and family sessions, I have conducted numerous psycho-educational forums for adolescents and adults. Being trained in bereavement therapy I have worked with individuals after the loss of a loved one, which can present a wide array of effects. Using EMDR, I have assisted individuals process traumatic events they have experienced, which continue to adversely affect their daily lives.
